Pearl Harbor
December 7, 1941. A defining moment in history! The Imperial Japanese Navy attacked the Pacific Fleet of the United States Navy. The attack damaged or destroyed twelve U.S. warships, destroyed 188 aircraft, and killed 2,403 American servicemen and 68 civilians. Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto planned the raid as the start of the Pacific Campaign of World War II, and it was commanded by Vice Admiral Chuichi Nagumo, who lost 64 servicemen. As many believe the attack on Pearl Harbor was the catalyst that made the United States enter World War II.
Well most of you might have seen the movie Pearl Harbor (which in my opinion was not worth watching !). Some of you might have seen Tora Tora which depicted the incident in a beautiful manner (If you haven't seen it, you really should). If you want to read a nice article outlining the events that led to the Pearl Harbor, the attack and the events that followed it then Click Here.
